The Abiodun F Oluwole Prize: This Prize is in honour of Prof Abiodun F. Oluwole, fnip, NNMA (pioneer and icon of Environment and Health research in Nigeria). It is to be awarded to an individual or corporate organization who in the preceding year made the most outstanding contribution to sustainable development in Nigeria via the environmental-health sector. Essay Competition for Undergraduates (and students from other Institutions of Higher Learning): Interested contestants are requested to send an essay of between 1,500 and 2,500 words by email attachment to jibolakinwale@yahoo.co.uk, sanyaolum@run.edu.ng, or tolu_karo@yahoo.com by Thursday, September 1, 2022. The topic of the Essay Competition is the Conference theme: ENVIRONMENTAL-HEALTH RISK ASSESSMENT AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA. The winning Essay will be featured in the Nigerian Journal of Environment and Health and the author will also receive a Plaque and Cash gift.
High School Innovation Challenge (on Environment-Health): This is aimed at bringing to fore the innovative and creative abilities of students in a way that will sustainably drive their active participation in the quest for safe environmental-health practices. In line for the Conference theme, students will be required to build an App/Software to assess the Environmental-Health Risks associated with a particular activity of their choosing. It will involve amassing local data to assess the exposure of human subjects to the particular hazards involved and characterizing the risk involved appropriately. The Challenge, this year, is sponsored by Kapporeth Charity Initiative, Abuja.
